The best experience of my Life. With Erasmus in School I got a contract with a Spanish School where I met great people. I visited the North of Spain and Erasmus in School was very clear about the Job and has helped me with Everything. Still today I'm maintaining my contacts in Spain. I got also a Spanish Degree. They're great I absolutely recommend them for your teaching Jobs in Spain ! One of the best experiences of my life ! ❤️🇪🇦❤️🇪🇦

If you are wishing to teach English abroad, I would not recommend using this agency. I was teaching in Spain from October 2019 to May 2020 and was contracted through the ErasmusInSchool platform. At the beginning of the year I had to give a €400 deposit that I would get back when I completed the school year. As you all know, the coronavirus struck in March and schools were closed and have still not been re-opened. I wanted to go home but naturally I was worried about the deposit so I awaited instructions from either ErasmusInSchool (who never contacted me at all during the pandemic! My housemates who were contracted by the British council were contacted immediately and told to go home) or my school. My school started advising me to go home so I asked about the deposit and was told that they would speak to ErasmusInSchool about it. Then we found out that I would not be able to get the deposit back unless I stayed contracted until the end of May as originally planned.

Personally, I found this absolutely disgusting and shameful. We were in a PANDEMIC, my school were giving me their blessing to go, they no longer were able to pay me my full wages, yet ErasmusInSchool didn’t want to give me MY deposit? I fulfilled all of my duties with the school, I didn’t do anything wrong.

The school no longer had the money to pay me my full wages anymore so they were halved. I was living on €250 a month. My rent was €135 a month (not including bills).

ErasmusInSchool put me in a horrible position financially and mentally.
They should have had the decency to just give me MY money back in considering the extraordinary circumstances. So through this review I would simply like to warn potential language assistants about the establishment. In my opinion, ErasmusInSchool looks out for the interest of the schools, not the language assistants. The fact that I had to give a “deposit” at the beginning should have been a warning sign. In what other job is that normal? With that being said, I would like to mention that my school is not to blame here at all. They were very helpful and supportive.

I feel so let down by this agency. Being stuck in a foreign country with such little money, unable to get back to my home country was the worst and most difficult time of my life. I view the fact that they couldn’t give me my money back before the end of May (and didn’t contact me at all during the whole pandemic) utterly shambolic.

I am writing this because I really don’t want this to happen anyone else. Be very wary of looking for work abroad through this agency. I wouldn’t not recommend them at all. 0/5.

*********MY REPLY TO EIS REPLY******************************
1. Me staying in Huelva during the summer last year is completely irrelevant to this situation
2 (a) What you said about me receiving my deposit on June 1st is a complete LIE. I had to message EIS on the 3rd of June saying I had not received the deposit and THEN was told to send my bank details.
(b) This was after a conversation where I requested the deposit back a mere few days earlier. I was told you would try send it by the 29th of May. Then you asked if I would promote my experience with the company to which I said I did not feel comfortable. Then you reverted back to saying that you would send me the deposit on the 31st of May. After everything you knew that I had been through that was really not nice to say the least.
3. Mentioning my country of origin in your last reply when it wasn't previously stated was unprofessional.

Hello,
9 months ago I applied for a teaching assistant job in Spain via the ERASMUS IN SCHOOL website. I had to pay 400 euros to ERASMUS IN SCHOOL that I would supposedly get back at the end of the contract (ie If I brake the contract the academy gets to keep the 400 euros). 3 weeks after arriving at the academy, having payed to get to Spain, renting an appartment and all of the other associated expenses I was let go after having only averaged 2h-3h/week (of actual teaching) when I was promised 20h/week as the academy that I was with had recruited too many teachers for the amount of students they had (several new teachers were let go). After telling this to Erasmus in school they refused to give me my money back and offered me other options in other cities that were impossible for me to do as I had no money left and had already took an appartment in the city where the academy was. After everything I find myself 2000 euros in debt because of them (rent, travelling costs, money they took off me and are still to this day refusing to give back).

So my advice to you is avoid this company at all costs !

Great platform. It is really convenient for schools to hire bright talent as well as beneficial for job seekers and students!! The management team is also really welcoming and helpful.
